The $500 Budget Home Gym

For those starting with a $500 budget, here’s how you can maximize your investment:

PowerBlocks – Adjustable Dumbbells (Around $299):

Start with a set of adjustable dumbbells, like Power Blocks. They’re a budget-friendly and space-saving option, allowing you to switch weights from 5 to 50 lbs. They’re not only durable but also expandable, so you can upgrade them later. The price as of writing this article is $299, so be patient to catch the best deal or pay a little extra. Either way, they are 100% worth the non-deal price.

Lusper Bench – A Versatile Bench ($69):

A sturdy bench is essential for various dumbbell exercises. Opt for a bench that’s highly rated for durability and comfort. Look for one that can fully incline and decline, supporting a weight capacity suitable for your needs.

Want something a bit nicer but will cost nearly double the money?

FLYBIRD Weight Bench:

Resistance Bands ($26):

Add versatility to your workouts with resistance bands. They’re perfect for exercises like squats, deadlifts, and chest presses, offering various tensions to match your strength level

With these three essentials, you can perform a wide range of exercises and have a functional home gym for under $500… Well actually $400 if you can catch the deals.

Expanding to a $1,500 Home Gym

If you’re ready to invest up to $1,500, here’s how you can enhance your home gym:

Barbell Set (Around $399):

Introduce a barbell set with weights. It’s ideal for compound movements and adds variety to your strength training. A set typically includes a bar and different weight plates, allowing for a wide range of exercises.

Rack System w/ Pulley System ($390):

Invest in a rack, especially if you’re incorporating barbell exercises. A simple rack system suffices initially, but for a more comprehensive setup, consider a rack with a pulley system ($390). It offers additional exercise options like pull-ups, rows, and dips.

Expand Your Dumbbells (Usually $139):

If you started with the 5 to 50 lb set, you might consider expanding them to 70 lbs or more as you progress, with extensions starting at $139. You can expand all the way up to 120lbs with this set.

Quality Gym Mat by TanMana ($159):

Don’t overlook the importance of a good gym mat. It protects your floor and equipment and provides a safer workout environment. This mat is 7mms thick and spans 6ft by 8ft. Perfect for my personal gym.

Additional Accessories:

Depending on your remaining budget, you can add other accessories like kettlebells, a jump rope, or a yoga mat to diversify your workouts.

Bonus Item:

I discussed getting the PowerBlocks because they are a fantastic buy… However, I spent more money to buy the fastest adjustable dumbbells on the market. For the pair and after tax they costed me $777.

Nuobell adjustable dumbbell by ROBURFLEX

I might seem crazy but hear me out: I need adjustable dumbbells that also looked like normal dumbbells for my educational videos. These fit the bill.
